Professor Ruth Annand of Humphreys & Co. to receive prestigious trademark award
The President’s Award is a highly prestigious accolade, coming from the world’s foremost trademark association. It acknowledges the profound appreciation of the global trademark community to individuals who over the course of a career in trademark and related IP law have made a lasting impact on INTA and the Association’s mission.
An INTA press release announcing the Award praised Ruth Annand’s achievements:
“Ruth Annand has made many significant contributions to the advancement of trademark law and to INTA. Highlights of her service to the Association include chairing the Community Trade Mark Office Subcommittee during the first years of OHIM’s existence, helping establish INTA’s strong relationship with OHIM, serving as one of the principal editors of INTA’s online Practitioner’s Guide to the Madrid Agreement and Madrid Protocol, leading INTA’s ground breaking intervention in the English Court of Appeal case of Special Effects v. L’Oréal, and serving on the Steering Group that is coordinating INTA’s response to the European Commission’s review of the European trademark system.”
The award will be presented on 10 November 2010 at INTA’s Leadership Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, USA.
