Defendant employed Claimant as a postman. Provided him with a bike with which to make his deliveries. Suffered injury when wheel of bike locked. Whether there was breach of statutory duty for failure to maintain under Regulation 6(1) of the Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations 1992. Extent of obligation imposed by Regulation 6(1). Held: Regulation 6(1) imposes an absolute obligation. Bike was not in an efficient state or in efficient working order. Defendant liable. Stark v. The Post Office. Court of Appeal.
